Clean Sweep for Scottish Junior Golf Tour in the Scottish Boys Under 12 at The Glen

The Scottish Junior Golf Tour achieved a clean sweep in the Under-12 section of the Scottish Boys Under-14 Golf Championships at The Glen. James Wilson from Hilton Park won shooting 80 one shot ahead of George Burns from Williamwood and Bob McIntrye from Glencruitten.

Unfortunately, James wasn't able to collect his prize in person. Due to a mistake in the age calculations, James thought he was out of the running and with the rest of the Scottish Junior Golf Tour went off to further hone their skills at nearby Kilspindie Golf Club.

SJGT Chairman, Walter Burns received James' prize on his behalf on having gone back to The Glen to retrieve some lost property and hearing about the mistake.

Despite this, James was delighted to win his first tournament. "I played will and just treid to stay focussed on my own game. It was really important to keep the ball low at The Glen becaused of the wind and playing on the Scottish Junior Golf Tour and participating in the Skills Development Sessions has prepared us all really well for playing on other courses and learning different shots. I am really looking forward to our next event."
